Dearest Friends,
It is with no regrets that I must announce my departure from the Burr Ridge Veterinary Clinic (BRVC).
As many of you know, I am becoming a newlywed on October 4th. Kellie and I have known one another for 27 years. Over this past year, we became engaged and we are now looking forward to starting our new life together in Michigan.
Some of you will recall my first days in practice when I joined Dr. Velders in May 1982. I cannot thank him enough for giving me the opportunity to serve you these past 32 years. I could never have imagined the depth or breadth of the relationships that I would develop with my patients, clients, staff, and suppliers, as well as my partners, associates and fellow Chicagoland veterinarians. You have all contributed to surpassing my wildest expectations of my life’s ambition to care for God’s creatures. I cannot think of five days I didn’t want to go to “work” because it never was work, it was my passion.
That being said, I continue to be a “person of interests”; many interests. As Kellie and I pursue those interests please know that you remain with us in spirit. Our intended departure date is August 21st.
If you would like to acknowledge our retirement from practice (but not from life) you can donate to the BRVC Danny Acker Fund for the care of pets with owners facing financial hardships. You may also send a note with a favorite memory or picture to the clinic. The staff will be making a scrapbook for us and will include any items received by July 31st.
I can wholeheartedly echo the words of Dr. Velders at his retirement, “I feel that I am leaving the practice, my life’s work, in good hands.” Dr. Rooney and Dr. Palmer will continue to own and operate the BRVC, as they have for the past 15 years as my partners. I have full confidence in them as well as their associates. They will take good care of you and your pets for many years to come.
Thank you, thank you for allowing me the honor of serving you these many years. I look to the future with joyful anticipation. I wish you and yours good health and happiness as you remain in our hearts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Gregg T Greiner DVM
